Which Food Is Best During Spring

It’s definitely springtime and that means it’s about time to start eating especially healthy to burn off all those calories stored from the winter feasting. There are some types of food that are exceptionally healthy and have great benefits. These foods are called “superfoods”.



Superfoods are foods that have a very high nutritious value and that have very good health benefits. Superfoods provide the body with vitamins and minerals that nourish the body.

Here are some examples of super foods that are excellent to be eaten during springtime.

Artichokes

A large artichoke contains 170 milligrams of potassium, only 25 calories, no fat, magnesium and is a great source of vitamin C.

Blueberries

Blueberries are filled with antioxidants, potassium and vitamin C. They are great in yogurt or simply by themselves.

Fresh Figs

Figs have the highest overall mineral content of all the other fruits that are common to us. Figs are very high in potassium, calcium, iron, vitamin B6 and the trace mineral manganese.

Spinach

Spinach is great because it is a great source of the B vitamin that helps in preventing heart disease, birth defects and colon cancer. Time to make some yummy salads and thrown in some spinach leaves. Yum, yum, yum, healthy body, here we come!

There are a lot more super foods that I didn’t list but the ones that I listed are some of the best for spring and are very nutrient dense.
