The building was orginally a CPR shed dating back to 1930 but it has been transformed into a open-air market and festival place. Notre Dame de Lourdes Shrine is located atop a hill on Lourde Street off Van Horne 705-522-2273. This is a replica of the famous shrine to the Virgin Mary in Lourdes, France. Count Fredric de Romanet du Caillaud founded the shrine in 1907 as a tribute to Our Lady of Lourdes in appreciation for the recovery of his wife from an illness.
