Huawei Gets Foldable Screen Patent

Shenzhen (China) | 1 April 2018:

Huawei has acquired foldable display patent at WIPO (World Intellectual property Organization) and it is belived the Chinese smartphone giant may soon launch a foldable phone that would transform into a tablet.

In October 2017 CEO of Huawei's Consumer Business Group, Richard Yu, revealed the company was working on a device spoting a gap in the middle of two screens and later to attempt getting rid of it.

Huawei had then filed for foldable display patent and so it is belived the gap between two displays may still persist.

However, it cannot be overruled that the device maker may not have updated its design since then.

With acquiring the foldable display patent it is true the company is now one step closer to such much speculated feature of smartphones.

The patent reveals smartphone from the stable of Huawei to have two screens with a fold in the middle. When folded it will serve as a phone and in the unfolded form it will become a tablet device.

Huawei has not yet revealed anything related to the powering of the device or how the phone will work.
