A note of trivia on the 1938 version of A Christmas Carol: Gene Lockhart played Bob Cratchit in the movie. Kathleen Lockhart (Gene's wife in real life) played his wife in the movie. June Lockhart – the couple's real-life daughter – played Belinda Cratchit, one of the daughters in the movie.

Most baby-boomers would remember June Lockhart as the mother (Ruth) in the television series Lassie (starring June Lockhart, Hugh Reilly, Jon Provost). June Lockhart has a lengthy film and television career, including another favorite show from days gone by: Lost in Space.
