Cold War is Returning Back Amid Syria Crisis: UN

13 April 2018:

Cold War is back and dangers of escalation over Syria is warned, said United Nations secretary general Antonio Guterres at UN Security Council meeting.

Meanwhile, United States and its allies are considering over launching missile strikes against the country as a reciprocate to the recent suspected chemical attack.

Russia is supporting the Assad government in Syria in the fight against rebels and other opposite forces.

Guterres urged all the nations involved in Syrian civil war to act responsibly under such dangerous circumstances.

Ambassadors of US and Russia to UN blamed each other of using the suspected chemical attack in Eastern Ghouta town of Douma in Syria. France's ambassador said Assad has gone too far, a point of no return.

Both US and France claimed to have prove Assad attacked Douma on Saturday in which dozens of people died. The Syrian government has however denied the allegation.

Syrian American Medical Society and Syria Civil Defence said their rescue workers found foam coming out of the mouths of chemical attack victims.

Both the organizations support hospitals in rebel-held areas in Syria and said the victims had blue skin and lips, and corneal burns.

US officials had earlier said blood and urine samples of victims prove positive for chlorine and a nerve agent.

Russia on the other hand has warned the missiles of US would be shot down and the launch sites would be targeted too.
