Americans are an eternally optimistic bunch. Thus, it seems natural that divorced Americans will often remarry, and some will remarry often. Therefore, the answer should be obvious to everyone after all this time: A second time bride gets to choose whatever color she wants to wear for her wedding dress. It’s her party and she (plus her fiancé) is paying.
Anyone who might be offended by the sight of a white dress should shut her eyes or send her regrets.

On the other hand, the white pearls and white beading, with white-lace tiers over white silk, worn with white satin shoes, is a little overdone in Western culture. It is the Chairman Mao suit of wedding dresses. Isn’t there anything a little more fun for a modern girl to wear to her own wedding? Of course there is.
Many first time brides are looking for color in their gowns. One new cute and fashionable trend is a colored bodice with a white skirt. And, pink (from baby pink to hot pink wedding dresses) is a hip, trendy, and flattering color for wedding gowns.
Why shouldn’t any girl wear whatever color makes her look stunning. Those old “wear white” rules were codified back in the mid century when photo albums only showed black, white, and shades of gray.
So, while a white wedding dress is beautiful, so is a pink, a lime green, an orange, or a red wedding dress. And, why not? If it’s proper for a blushing bride to wear a baby blue wedding gown, a colored dress is certainly going to look cool and trendy on an older female.

A woman who is throwing a glitzy soiree will want a glamorous show-stopping outfit. But, for a family get-together wedding in the backyard, something more casual, like a boho chic peasant dress would feel more appropriate.
