Expect lots of food stalls selling fish, rice and peas, macaroni pie, etc. There is also beer on sale (try Banks and Carib). Music plays loud and there is an area for dancing. An excellent part of the Barbados experience, it's not to be missed.

Taking a boat is a good way to see the island from the ocean, aswell as experiencing the calm ocean. Catamaran cruises are available from a variety of companies – hotel receptions should be able to point in the direction of the closest. There are a lot of tours of the island that include boat trips and swimming with turtles – check Coconut Tours, Adventureland 4x4 tours and Glory Tours for some ideas. Atlantis offers an alternative sea opportunity with submarine trips. They offer family rates and private charters are available.
