Pumpkin Farms in Southern Ontario

Southern Ontario is enchanting in the fall season with different coloured leaves on trees and crisp, cool air. Before Halloween arrives, some families enjoy fall pastimes such as picking pumpkins and taking their kids to pumpkin farms for a day of outdoor fun. With a large selection of activities and attractions, pumpkin farms in Southern Ontario are a popular destination from late September until the end of October.

Yee Haw Adventure Farms

Yee Haw Adventure Farms is open every weekend in October. Located just outside of Cambridge, Ontario, this farm will keep the family busy for hours. There are many activities for both kids and adults in addition to an enticing selection of fall treats at the Sugar Shak: pumpkin pie, kettle corn, home-cut fries, hot chocolate and apple cider for the breaks in between.


Yee Haw offers Boo Barn, a haunted barn for adults and kids over the age of three. There is also the Haunted Hayride, a wagon ride through the woods and a five-acre corn maze. Children will especially take pleasure in the Little Critters playground, for those four and under, as well as the farm animals including pigs, goats, chickens, sheep, rabbits, ducks and donkeys. The family can also watch pig races, a 20-minute live show at 12 pm, 2 pm and 4 pm daily.

For a family of four, expect to pay roughly $60.00 for admission. Individually, guests over three years of age will pay about $16.00. Hours are 11:30 am to 5:30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The following is the contact information:

Snyders Family Farm

Formerly known as KimGlo, this family pumpkin farm is open from the end of September until Halloween. Located in Bright, Ontario, this farm is not only for kids and families during the day, but also for those who enjoy being frightened by Halloween terrors at night.

With a 15-acre pumpkin patch that is pesticide-free and a large corn maze, family members should be easily entertained. Guests can also enjoy the animal zoo, John Deere tractors, a straw castle made of hay bales and a half-hour hayride. Additionally, there is a Barn of Fear for those more daring and Zoe's Clown Show three times daily with balloons and storytelling for those wanting a more lighthearted activity. Don't forget Snyders' home-made apple fritters.

In addition to the daytime activities at Snyders Family Farm, guests can also take part in the Night Terrors activities on weekends in October. Available is the Hayride of Horror, including a 30-minute hayride through haunted scenes and a walk through the forest and corn maze as well as the Barn of Fear and the Haunted Corn Maze.

For daytime activities, children two and under are free, while those 3 to 11 are about $8.00 and adults will pay approximately $10.00. All prices do not include tax. Howell Family Pumpkin Farm

Located in Font Hill, Ontario, Howell Family Pumpkin Farm is open the second last weekend in September until Halloween. Activities are included in the price of general admission and include such things as the Straw Jump Barn, Hay Play Area, Tractor Tire Play Area, a sandbox, a Forest Walk including both a short and long trail, as well as Bunnyville and an animal farm.

Attractions as Howell Family Pumpkin Farm are Pay as you Go, require tickets or are included in the price of an Adventure Pass. They include such items as the Scenic Wagon Ride, Haunted Spook Barn, Super Corny Cobbs Maze Adventure, Haystack Jumping Pillow, Bucking Cow Train, Train-o-saurus Rex Ride and the Pumpkin Sling Shot. The Adventure Pass gives unlimited access to both activities and attractions.

Howell Family Pumpkin Farm is open during the week. Kids four and up will pay about $5.00 and those three and under are free. An Adventure Pass costs about $16.00. Contact information is as follows:

Strom's Farm

Strom's Farm offers more than pumpkins. Guests can also purchase produce such as sweet corn. The Harvest Fun Area is open the last weekend in September until Halloween. Strom's is partnered with the Salvation Army, so a portion from each admission is donated to this charity.

Guests at Strom's can enjoy a number of activities including the Jumpin Jack Tile Maze, Rope Maze, Straw Maze, 6-Acre Corn Maze and Sand Pit. Pumpkin Chuckin' is another attraction and guests will receive three free pumpkins with the price of admission. Wagon rides are also available for those who wish to learn more about Strom's and enjoy the scenery.
